What determines the success of change is the will and ability of the organisation. Therefore, the change process is central in all projects. Acando uses a number of methods to start, drive, follow up on and quality-assure the change process. A method called Change Management is generally used. The method involves getting people to leave their current known situation behind, via a number of steps, and to engage in a new, unknown situation and start to work in a new way.

One common reason why change projects fail is that the individual fails to see the big picture and does not understand his or her own role in the big new puzzle. Therefore, it is extremely important to create a common view of how operations are to function, in which each piece of the puzzle is clear, so that every- one aims for the same goal. To create understanding and agreement on objectives and new working methods, Acando works successfully with different types of visualisation methods. The phrase “seeing is believing” is very important here. A person often needs to see a change to understand it, both intellectually and intuitively. And if you can see an objective it is easer to reach it.

Visualisation also reduces the risk of misunderstanding, which is one of the commonest pitfalls in a change project. The more complex the change is, the greater the importance of visualisation. Facts, figures, outcomes and scenarios are visualised as concretely as possible for everyone involved to make the journey ahead clear and to minimise surprises.
