Acando helps politicians in Oslo to save paper
2011-05-11
The City Council of Oslo wants to establish a new portal for the city council´s elected. The portal will be central in day to day work and collaboration around policy issues. ”The portal will help us to save a lot of paper. Politics is a paper-based industry. Now it will be easier to work with documents electronically," says John B. Mannsåker, director of the City Council Secretary.
The portal will provide better service through electronic distribution, where the user defines which documents and information to receive, including how and when.
"Acando AS appears to be a reliable supplier. They offer an exciting and innovative product which will continue to develop. The price is within framework of the competition framework. The solution will provide value within the major functional areas that were identified through needs analysis. Acando AS has a well-established system for operations, application management and support," according to the customer´s evaluation.
Acando delivers the solution based on the enterprise portal Liferay. This is solution based on open source, which allows several interesting possibilities when it comes to sharing the results of the work with other municipalities.
Acando engages Halogen as a subcontractor for the interaction and graphic design.
